and cool winters.
Summer
in Lahore
Lahore’s summer calendar months are May and June. It’s very
hot and expects daily highs of over 46°C and stifling nights as hot as 28°C. Severe
heat waves can push the temperatures even higher than this, and uncomfortable
dust storms are common.
Summer, especially in Lahore, is a terrible thing and
extremely hard to get through. However, after years of living in this city, you
learn a few tricks here and there to learn to survive these few months of
scorching summer and prevent being burnt to a crisp.
Because of the heat, most visitors prefer to avoid Lahore
during the summer. If you do visit, take a hat and cover yourself in loose
cotton clothing. Sunscreen is obviously a must and you must ensure that you
drink enough water to avoid becoming dehydrated. If you’re not used to this
kind of climate, factor in time for acclimatisation and don’t expect too much
of yourself.
Southwest monsoon is one of the main factors that affect the Lahore Weather ; it also occurs in the summer and starts from June until
September. These heavy monsoon rains bring relief from scorching heat.
October and November are the autumn months in
Lahore, and this is a popular season for tourists. The heat dissipates a
little, with average daily highs of around 30°C and the nights are considerably
cooler, reaching as low as 12°C by the end of November.
